DAGGETT, Harvey E.

Harvey E. Daggett, 67, of Ashford, passed away on Tuesday (August 20, 2013) at Windham Hospital. He was born in Old Town, ME, son of the late Harvey A. and Geraldine (Grover) Daggett. Harvey served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a member of Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, having been former Commander for Post No. 26 and former Commander for the State of Connecticut. He was also a member of the Italian Benefit Society and Stafford Fish and Game Club. Harvey worked as a track official for many years at Stafford Motor Speedway. He enjoyed ATV's, snowmobiling, above all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Schaffer; two sons, Jeffrey Daggett and Jonathan Daggett and his wife Lisa; two step children, Bonny Young and her husband Michael, and Shane Schaffer; nine grandchildren, Austin, Brianna, Cody, Brady, Kylee, Devin, Ethan, Julia, and Lexie; brother, Keith Daggett; sister, Sheila Gardner, step father, George LeBretton; mother-in-law, Mildred Jones; sister-in-law, Dale Jones and her companion David Kwaczala; a beloved aunt, Caroline Whaley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Jason Daggett; and sister, Sharon Jean Daggett.
His funeral will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013, with a procession forming by 9 a.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church, 111 Tolland Green, Tolland, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Cemetery, Tolland. Calling hours are on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
