MILNE, Howard L.

Howard L. Milne, age 82, of 6 Elcock Circle, Irmo, SC 29063, passed away November 16, 2012 of dementia. He was born in Williamstown, VT on June 7, 1930, son of George and Alice Riddle Milne. He received his education in Graniteville and Williamstown, graduating from Williamstown High School in 1948. On Sept. 4, 1954, he married Ann Roy. They lived in Connecticut and Miami, FL and moved to South Carolina in 1998. He was employed for 25 years by Eastern Air Lines at Bradley Field in Connecticut and later transferred to Miami where he retired in 1988. He was a member of the EAA and the Moose Club. He loved to dance and play cards and did scrapbooking for several years. Since his retirement he and his wife spent the summers at their camp in Woodbury. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Lt. Edward Milne who was killed in World War II. He was a fighter pilot in the CBI Theater. He was also predeceased by his beloved Boston Terrier, Buddy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debra Jenkins and her husband Stanley of Irmo, SC and Donna Centore and her husband Tom of Enfield, CT; three grandchildren, Renee Centore-Kelly and her husband Steve of Enfield, Matthew Jenkins and his wife Shannon of Raleigh, NC, Billy Jenkins of Columbia, SC and two great-grandchildren, Bridget and Grant Kelly of Enfield.
A graveside service will be held in May at Wilson Cemetery, Barre Vermont. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chrohn's & Colitis Foundation of America or your local Animal Shelter.
