Joseph H. King Sr. Obituary


Joseph H. King, Sr., 82, of South Windsor passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014. He was born March 25, 1932 in Rockville, the son of the late Joseph King and Jenny (Hepton) Jutras. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of RUMC. He was a member of the GOM at the Rockville United Methodist Church and the Rockville American Legion. He was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his daughters, Joanne Stenger and her husband Peter of East Hartford and Carol Macri of Vernon; his son, Joseph King, Jr. and his wife Toye of Enfield; his sister, Margaret Sudol and her husband John of Southington; his grandchildren, Michael, Joseph III, Nicole, John, Vanessa, Tyler and Sara; nine great-grandchildren; and his longtime devoted partner Sandie Halm. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia King; and his sister, Jane Carlson. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm St. Rockville, CT 06066. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the Rockville United Methodist Church, 142 Grove St, Vernon, CT 06066. Burial will take place at a later date at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rockville United Methodist Church or the Connecticut Department of Veterans' Affairs, 287 West St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
