PARKER, June F. (Martell)
June F. (Martell) Parker, 76, formerly of East Hartford, peacefully journeyed home on Wednesday, (January 16, 2013) at the Vernon Manor with her caring family by her side. Born in Westerly, RI on June 3, 1936, a daughter of the late William and Anna Elizabeth (Rathburn) Martell, she had been a resident of East Hartford for most of her life. June was a former member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in East Hartford. June was a talented cook who worked at Rein's Deli in Vernon where she retired after many years of dedicated service. She also enjoyed knitting and playing cards. June is survived by a son, Patrick J. Parker and his wife, Brenda, of Glastonbury; two daughters, Joyce M. Parker and her husband, Joel Champany, of East Hartford, and Peri Parker of Duluth, GA; two sisters, Grace Smith and her husband, Wally, of North Conway, NH, and Vonda Gencarella and her husband, Robert, in Florida; five special grandchildren, Tanya, Michelle, Ashley, Dianna, and Matthew; six adored great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 19, at 1 pm at the D'ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. June's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff at Vernon Manor for their professionalism, care, love, and compassion given to June and her entire family.
