Kim Ann Dotolo Obituary

Kim Ann Mancuso Dotolo, 55, of Rocky Hill passed away peacefully February 14, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Kim had battled breast cancer over seven years. She inspired everyone who knew her with her heartwarming smile and overwhelmingly positive attitude. Kim found the grace to live every moment to the fullest and shared that confidence and passion with all. Her generosity, dedication to her family and support for her friends will be irreplaceable. Kim was born July 12, 1958 in Torrance, CA, the daughter of Josephine (Vasques) Mancuso of Stuart, FL and the late Robert L. Mancuso of Fort Lauderdale, FL. She is also survived by her devoted husband, Mark Dotolo, and her daughter, the joy of her life, Kara; three brothers, Bob Mancuso and his wife Yvonne of Friday Harbor, WA, Craig Mancuso of Jensen Beach, FL, and Dante Mancuso and his wife Kathy of Boca Raton, FL; two sisters, Susan Petruzzi and her husband Mark of West Hartford and Margaret Harris and her husband Richard of Waterford, and her sister-in-law Kim (Burlingham) Mancuso of Newington. Kim is also survived by her stepmother, Antoinette (Toni) Mancuso of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and two favorite aunts, Mary Rose Vasques and Gloria Brophy. We know Kim would insist we name each and every one of her nieces, nephews and shared grandchildren that knew her as "FAK" (Favorite Aunt Kim) and they are David, Richie, Emily, Lauren, Dan (her Godson), Leslie, Jaclyn, Ayanna, Michael Max, Arielle, Kathleen, Lilyanna, Alexis, Marisa, Ben, Millie and Niko. There are also numerous loving cousins, aunts and uncles that will miss her immensely. She was predeceased by her older brother, Dan "The Man" Mancuso and her youngest sister, Mary Ann Mancuso. To all, Kim radiated trust, appreciation and gratitude, especially to her mother Josephine, who shared a lifetime of special moments, particularly during the last few years. Kim's best friend of 40 years, Joy Gaughan, and longtime friend and neighbor, Susan Pellegatto had a special place in Kim's heart. Kim graduated from St. Bernard HS in 1976 and later from UConn with a business degree. Kim worked as a controller for several local companies until her illness prevented her from continuing. While dedicated and professional in all her work endeavors, Kim's real passion was her family. To her daughter Kara, Kim was a super mom and best friend as she guided her through adolescence, high school and into college. To her husband Mark, Kim was the beacon that opened his heart. Kim's endless generosity to all has been the foundation of her personality and was most evident in her caring for her brother and sister throughout their illnesses, even as she was ill herself. The family wishes to thank all Kim's doctors, nurses and staff at Hartford Hospital, especially Dr. Dailey. We would also like to thank all Kim's friends and supporters for their kind and caring thoughts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22nd at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 626 Willard Avenue, Newington. Burial will follow in West Meadows Cemetery, Newington. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions can be made in Kim's honor to The , 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
