WILSON, Kurt E.

Kurt E. Wilson, 62, a resident of East Windsor and formerly of Granby and Suffield, died early Saturday afternoon, (October 27, 2012) at St. Francis Hospital, with his devoted wife by his side. He was born in Ludlow, MA a son of Dorothy E. (Wiegand) Wilson of Granby, and the late Richard C. Wilson. Kurt was a graduate of Suffield High School, Class of 1968 and proudly served state side from 1970-1975 with the Army National Guard 712th Unit from Bradley Field shortly after the Vietnam War era. He along with his devoted wife of 12-years, AnnMarie C. (Sarno) Wilson, were employed with the former Century 21 Alaimo & Corrado office in Enfield until his retirement in 2008. Kurt was previously employed with the Town of Enfield Public Works Department for many years as the fleet maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the National Association of Realtors. His favorite pastimes included fishing, working around his yard, an avid history buff, traveling, and recent annual vacations with his wife on Martha's Vineyard. During his high school years, Kurt joined a band and played locally for many years. He never lost his love of music, or his inspiration and love of playing his guitar. Kurt also had a special passion for John Deere tractors. He will be remembered by his family and friends alike lovingly known as "Uncle Fun" driving his tractors and wagons filled to capacity with family and friends. Besides his devoted wife and loving mother he leaves two sons, Richard A. Wilson of Simsbury, and Kurt P. Wilson of Brooklyn, NY; his two brothers, Michael Wilson and his wife, Carol of Cape Coral, FL and Barry Wilson and his wife, Vicki of Palmyra, VA: and his sister, Heidi Stephen and her husband, Michael of West Suffield; six nieces and nephews; four aunts; and many cousins; he also leaves four special friends, Jerry and Gloria Taylor and Harry and Sue Modzelewski; Kurt also leaves his favorite animals, Bubby Jo his Yorkshire Terrier, and Charley his cat.
All services are private and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
