Louise Belton Cicero Obituary

Louise Belton Cicero, 83, of Hartford, was called home to be with our Lord & Savior on Saturday (March 29, 2014), in the company of loved ones. She was born in Springfield, MA on October 22, 1930, to the late Earl P. Belton, Sr. and Rose (Binn) Belton. She was educated in Springfield, graduating from the High School of Commerce. She spent her early years employed as a Dental Hygienist for Dr. William Jones, before moving to Hartford. She then married her ex-husband, the late Alfred Cicero and was a stay at home mother before employment with Royal Typewriter Co., and then changing employment with the Southern New England Telephone Co. (now AT&T), retiring after 33 years of service. She was a prior member of the YMCA's Water-Aerobics Class which she truly loved and enjoyed and was also a current member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. Louise loved jazz (especially Monday Night Jazz at the Elks Lodge), outdoor events, she had a flair with clothing which qualified her to be a DIVA, and most of all she loved her family & friends - especially her children. She is survived by two loving daughters: Tracy L. Cicero (Peter H. Reynolds, Fiancé), of Hartford, and Tori A. Cicero, of Atlanta, GA; four sisters, Betty J. Belton, Rose M. Tavernier, Marva K. Craigwell of Springfield, MA, and Pearl I. Belton, of Chicopee, MA; three brothers, Craig B. Belton, of Dayton, OH, Percy R. Belton, Sr., and Thomas M. Belton, Sr. of Springfield, MA. She was predeceased by two brothers, Richard D. Belton and Earl P. (Duke) Belton, of Springfield, MA. Louise, with her generous, kind-hearted spirit, would want to recognize special devoted friends in both Hartford and Springfield. She would also want to recognize with devotion and love, Wanda Yacone, of Bloomfield, Barbara J. Harris, of New York, NY, and Betty Gilliard, of Hartford. She leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members to morn her passing. The family would like to thank Dr. Syed Bilgrami and the Oncology Team of St. Francis Hospital for all of their effort in caring for their loved one. Calling hours will be Friday, April 4th, from 10-12 noon, with Funeral Service immediately following at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 1154 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield. Interment will be at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery. For inquires and online condolences, please contact Carmon Funeral Home at
