CLOUKEY, Melvin F.

Melvin F. Cloukey, 81, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness.. Melvin leaves his devoted wife of 54 years, Gladys (Chamberland), his three loving children, daughter Karen Kinneair and son-in-law Ron, his son Kevin, his son Kerry and daughter-in-law Nadine. He has three beloved grandchildren, Joseph S. Rizzo, III, Matthew Ayala and Kayla Cloukey. Melvin leaves his brother Norman Cloukey, wife Sylvia and sister Geraldine Collins. He is predeceased by his parents Paul and Cecile Cloukey. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. Melvin retired from the Fafnir Bearing Company after many years of service. Melvin was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, VFW of New Britain, and the French Model Club. Melvin proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 9 a.m. at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Directions: Exit 37 off I 84 take a right at the exit, 1 1/2 miles on your right. Funeral liturgy of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. St. Francis of Assisi Church, Stanley St. New Britain. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
