KOEHLER, Paul B.
Paul B. Koehler, MD, 88 of Newbury, NH, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, (October 9, 2013). Paul was born in New Haven, CT and was the son of Oscar and Isabel (Dilg) Koehler. Paul grew up in Greenfield, MA, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Greenfield High School as class president in 1942. He was an alumnus of Yale University class of 1945W and Yale Medical School class of 1948. Paul served as a Navy Lieutenant during the Korean War. He practiced pediatrics and general medicine for some years before working for several pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies. He lived in Trumbull for 24 years before retiring to NH in 1991 where he enjoyed caring for his property and attending Yale football games. Paul was predeceased by his wife of 40 years Lorraine (Mahan) Koehler. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Margaret (Morgan) Koehler; four children, Shawne Kaeser and her husband James of Chester, VA, Paul Koehler Jr. of Fishers, IN, Kristin O'Connor of Redding, CT, and Thomas Koehler and his wife Carol of Simsbury, CT. Also surviving are Margaret's children, Jeanne (Miller) Eadie, her husband Daniel of Glen Rock, PA, Lincoln Miller and his wife Amanda of San Francisco, CA. He leaves thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Paul donated his remains to the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick's Church in Redding, CT on Saturday, October 26, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The
