Paul Patrick Mangiafico, Jr., of West Hartford, beloved husband for 51 years of the late Doris (Mazza) Mangiafico, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 on his 87th birthday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hartford, the son of the late Paul and Maria (Cultrera) Mangiafico. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Paul graduated from Hartford Public High School in 1947 and was a graduate of Hillyer College. He worked at Pratt & Whitney as an electronic technican for 42 years, retiring in 1989. In his earlier days he played semi-pro football for the Manchester Merchants. In addition, he was a member of the Pallini Club. Paul coached for various baseball leagues in Hartford and enjoyed golfing, bowling and his once-a-month breakfasts with his Eastside friends. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a sports fanatic and an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. A loving father and grandfather, Paul will be dearly missed by his four children: Paul Mangiafico, III and his wife Carol of West Hartford, Michael Mangiafico and his wife Jennifer of Farmington, Marie Campitelli and her husband Sam of West Hartford and Linda Ciotto of Plainville and his nine adored grandchildren: Matthew Mangiafico and his wife Katie, Kristen Mangiafico, Michael and Danielle Campitelli, Robert, Kevin and Justin Ciotto, and Madison and Connor Mangiafico. He is also survived by his sister, Tina Lisella of Hartford, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Lucy Miele and Nellie Macca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (August 25) at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
