ARCHANGELO, Richard

Richard Archangelo, 73, of Southington, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at HCC at New Britain General. He was the husband of Helen (Blanchard) Archangelo. He was born Sept. 28, 1939 in New Britain, son of the late James and Helen (Jazewski) Archangelo. He was employed by Stanley Works in New Britain for 27 years and owned his own commercial cleaning service for a number of years. He was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing sports, including, softball and golfing and also loved coaching. He was a fan of the Redsox and UConn basketball. He was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church. Besides his wife he is survived by three children, Joseph Archangelo and his wife Alana of Ashburnham, MA, Michael Archangelo and his wife Stacia of Bristol and Kathryn Roberts and her husband Matthew of Plainville. He also leaves his eight grandchildren, Ashley, Vanessa, Justin, Madeline, MacKenzie and Michael Archangelo, Benjamin and William Roberts and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Augusto Archangelo.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday 9:15 from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Aloysius Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery.
