GEFFKEN, Robert W. Sr.

Robert William Geffken, Sr., 86, died on Tuesday, (January 15, 2013), at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the son of the late George and Julia (Anstatt) Geffken of Rockfall. Born Jan. 28, 1926 in Rockfall, he was a long time resident of both Meriden and Rocky Hill. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed by International Silver Company in Meriden for over 30 years. He is survived by his three sons, Robert, Jr, Portland, ME, Thomas and his wife, Kimberly (Aiello), Southington, and Daniel, Concord, MA. In addition, he is survived by five Geffken grandchildren: Paul (Somerville, MA), Michael (Nashville, TN), Matthew and Melissa (Southington) and Molly (Concord, MA). He is also survived by his sister, Marjorie Dibble, Sylvania, OH, and his sister-in-law, Mary (Cowan) Geffken of N. Fort Myers, FL. He was predeceased by his brother, Howard, N. Fort Myers, FLA
The funeral service will be held at John J. Ferry Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Middlefield Cemetery, Main St., Middlefield, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be sent in his memory to Rocky Hill Senior Center, 761 Old Main St., Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
