Roland D. Corbin Obituary

Roland D. Corbin, 93, of Bristol, widower of Dorothy Jane (Lagasse) Corbin, passed away at Ingraham Manor on Thursday June 5, 2014. Roland was born in Grand Isle, ME on September 5, 1920 and was a son of the late Damais and Anne (Cyr) Corbin. He has resided in Bristol since 1953 and was a diesel mechanic for Crest Tractor and Equipment, Berlin, CT before retiring in 1982. He served proudly with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, Philippines, and New Guinea. Roland was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol, League of Sacred Heart Society, Franco American War Veterans, and the Operating Engineers Local 478. Roland is survived by three sons, Roland W. Corbin and his wife Betsy of Bristol, Henry Corbin of Palm Desert, CA, and Brian Corbin and his wife Nancy of Hopkinton, MA; three grandchildren, Todd Corbin and his wife Alison, Jennifer Corbin, and Jesse Corbin and his wife Brandi; four great grandchildren, Rhiannon, Harper, James, and Jude Corbin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday (June 9, 2014) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol to St. Ann Church, Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday between 4 and 7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul Catholic High School, 1001 Stafford Ave., Bristol, CT 06010.
