William M. Brown Obituary

William M Brown joined the lord and his beloved wife Grace, with his children by his side. Born in Hartford May 8, 1935. Son of the late Thomas Charles Brown and Kathleen Veronica (Canny Brown) Dickson. Bill and Grace raised their family of six children in East Hartford, CT before retiring to Rotonda, West, FL. Bill was a United States Air Force Veteran having proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a communicant of St. Francis Church. For many years he was a member of the Elks, VFW, American Legion, Eagles, Irish American Home Society, Officer's Club and the Moose Club. He sponsored many sports leagues over the years. He donated his time in many ways through the clubs but also generously donated his time to the Englewood Hospice giving comfort to people in their time of need. Bill was a successful entrepreneur beginning with CT Swimming Pool, Billy Brown's Prospect Café. Once in Florida, he enjoyed using his talents singing and entertaining across southwest Florida. He also spent many years working as a Deputy Sheriff for Hartford County. He was predeceased by his daughter Kathleen Mae Brown. He leaves his 5 children, William Shannon Brown and his wife Deborah of East Hartford, Harrigan Brown of Manchester, Ryan Brown and his wife Diana of Ellington, Kerry Brown of South Windsor and Kileen Gromelski and her husband Brian of Manchester. He leaves a brother Thomas Brown and his wife Pamela Brown. He was also predeceased by his sister Nancy Brown Blonski and leaves a very special brother-in-law, Edward Blonski. He has also left 10 grandchildren William, Sean, Leah, Madison and Kyle Brown, Ryan and Patrick Foley, Jessica, Mariah and Erica Gromelski, as well as his 2 great grandchildren Sean and Arianna Brown. Billy Brown set a legacy for his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and countless friends. A special thank you to John Lynch and Joan Keogh, our father's guardian angels. Their friendship, endless compassion and care for our father and to our family will never be forgotten. A Roman Catholic Service will be held at St. Isaac Jogues in East Hartford on Saturday August 9th at 10 a.m. There will be a private family burial service at a later date, per Bill's request.
