Jack D. Triggs
Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Providence Baptist Church for Mr. Jack D. Triggs, 79, of Hattiesburg, (Lux Community).
He died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at State Veterans Home in Colilns.
Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.
A native of Lux, Mr. Triggs graduated from Eatonville High School (now North Forrest), The University of Southern Mississippi and The Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He was involved in the banking industry for 35 years, retiring in 1999 as President of Great Southern National Bank.
Mr. Triggs was a former board member of the USM Foundation, past president of the USM Alumni Assoc., and was inducted into the USM Alumni Hall of Fame. He was a former member of the Hattiesburg Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member and deacon of Providence Baptist Church, and a US Navy Veteran.
He is survived by a son, Jonathan Triggs (Malia) of Hattiesburg; two daughters, Mitzi Ulmer (Dale) of Vancleave and Pam Shows (Rodney) of Hattiesburg; a sister, Mary Lou Sims of Hattiesburg; a brother, Gene Austin Triggs of Clinton; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
