1924 - 2014 | Obituary Condolences
MR. FRENCH J. NAPIER, 89, of Douglas, Mich., formerly of Wayne, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2014. He was born October 8, 1924, in Wayne County, W.Va., a son of the late Albert and Dakota Napier. His beloved wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Napier, also preceded him in death along with two sons, Paul Napier and Edsel Napier; and two grandsons, Nicholas Napier and Jefferson Thompson. French proudly served in the US Marine Corps and was a retired foreman with the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan after 20 years of service. He leaves behind four sons, Geary F. (Lynne) Napier of Kalamazoo, Mich., Micheal (Zanna) Napier of Cleveland, Tenn., Eddie C. Napier of Pasadena, Md., and Gregory Allen (Tammy) Napier of Cleveland, Tenn.; four daughters, Debra A. (Terry) Wilson of Alabama, Pamela Sue (Frank E.) Lercher of Louisville, Ky., Sandy Bobeldyke of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Terri Lee (Richard Rockwell) Thompson of Huntington, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2014, at the Bethlehem United Baptist Church, Ceredo, W.Va., where French was a member, Burial will follow in Community Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday at Johnson Tiller Funeral Home, Wayne.
