MAINWARING, BRUCE ELLIOTT, 84, loving devoted husband of Agnes Cristine Valletta-Mainwaring, passed away peacefully July 6, 2014 in Miami, Florida. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 26, 1930. He was the only son of Thomas and Nettie Davis-Mainwaring. He was raised in Brooklyn, New York and in 1951 he graduated from Yale University with a BA, where he was a member of Detta Kapa. He was a captain in the US Air Force, SAC. Following his Air Force service he was employed by the US Government for 28 years in the Intelligence field. In 1953, he married Agnes Cristine Valletta-Mainwaring and went on to have a son, Brian Anthony Mainwaring. Mr. Mainwaring was a loving family man with a wise and gentle spirit who led by example. He had a special love for books as well as for animals. Mr. Mainwaring is survived by his wife Agnes of 60 years, his son Brian Anthony and daughter-in-law Brenda Mainwaring, his dear sister-in-law Katherine Valletta-Acoin of Woodbury, Connecticut and his cousin Betty May Smith of Vestal, New York.
