Hartsell passed from this earth at the age of 93 on Tuesday, July 1st, surrounded by family and friends. Born in a logging camp in Starke, West Virginia and raised with 5 brothers in Bristol, Tennessee, Hog (as he was known by friends) attended pharmacy school at the University of Florida after serving in WWII as a merchant marine. He finally settled down in Miami Springs and lived there for more than 50 years. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing from the dock Hog Haven, his wilderness camp in the Everglades. Hartsell was preceded in death by his two older brothers, W.C. (Wanda) and Tom (Irene), and is survived by his two younger siblings, Paul (Phyllis) and Charlie (Joyce). Also mourning his loss are numerous nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law Brian and Robert, sister-in-law Tilie, wife of 42 years Aurora, and daughters Marceil and Mary Jo (Brian). Services will be held at 12:30 P.M. at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 N.W. 57th Ave, with burial to follow at 1 P.M.
