MCCUTCHEON, JAMES EDWARD Passed away peacefully at the age of 91 in the loving presence of family members on December 14, 2013. He was raised in Peru, Indiana, served his country in the United States Navy during World War II, and after graduating with honors from the University of Notre Dame, started his career with Exxon in Aruba later transferring to Miami. After his 30 year career he retired in Coral Gables. As a devout Catholic and family man, his love of God and family were his passions. He will always be remembered for his warm smile, compassionate ways, charitable acts, sense of humor and concern for his family. He enjoyed sports (Notre Dame, U of M, Carroll College, Loras College and Columbus HS), genealogy, Native American culture and serving the needs of others, especially the poor. He enjoyed many hours over the years with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dad was always there for us, and will be missed. We know his spirit and love will always be with us. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret and son, James Timothy. He is survived by his wife, Madonna; sons: Patrick, Michael, Brian and Kevin and daughters: Catherine and Maura, thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 7-9 pm with a rosary beginning at 8:00 pm at Stanfill Funeral Homes -10545 S. Dixie Hwy, Pinecrest, FL. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, Dec. 19th at The Church of the Little Flower, Coral Gables, FL. Graveside services will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery Miami, FL. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to Church of the Little Flower, Coral Gables, FL, St. Joseph Indian School, Chamberlain, South Dakota, or a charity of your choosing.
