LINN, JAY HOWARD, 80, of Bay Harbor Islands, died on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was a proud Floridian since in 1941. He attended Miami Beach public schools and the University of Miami accounting and law schools. He served in the Army Reserve. Having practiced as a CPA and tax attorney for 59 years, he was respected by his clients and associates for his intelligence and honesty. He served as a mentor to high school students who worked as interns in his accounting offices. Several of them continued working for him for years after their internships. He said that as an accountant he didn't do math, he solved people's problems. He loved his work and never retired. He served as President of Temple Menorah where he was a member for 46 years after growing up in Temple Emanu-El. He was a devoted sports fan of local teams, especially the Hurricanes and the Dolphins. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Laraine (Friedman) Linn, his daughters Debra Linn and Judy Muirhead, son-in-law John Muirhead III, twin grandsons Matthew and Jack Muirhead, nephews Jeff and Jerry Jacobs and their families, brother-in-law Richard Friedman and family and a wonderful extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Ann and Joe Linn and his sister Ruth Jacobs. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Blasberg-Rubin-Zilbert, 720-71st St., Miami Beach (305) 865-2353
