HAMMER Ronney Charles Hammer of Marathon, Florida Keys, died July 31st, 2014, at age 80, following a long illness. Formerly from Michigan, Ron was a resident of The Florida Keys for over 30 years and shared his life with his surviving partner, Charlene "Bonnie" Staryk. He was a decorated Army Veteran and a graduate of the University of Michigan. His primary career was as an advertising executive for the television and radio industry in the US and in Canada, as well as being involved with multi-state political advertising campaigns. His second career was as an officer of Florida Keys Handbag Factory, Key Holly, Inc., and Floating Coconut Ltd., assisting with retail stores and wholesale accounts in the island chain. Ron is survived by his son Jeff Hammer of Lake Park, Florida, daughter Julie Hammer Wassenaar of Jupiter, Florida and son Jay Hammer of South Lyon, Michigan, as well as three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is fondly remembered by the families of Michael Staryk of Coral Springs, Florida and Myka Staryk-Monson of Boca Raton, Florida.
