Linda and Kenneth Ward

Linda Lou Ward, a resident of Dorris, Calif., passed away Oct. 17, 2013, at the age of 76. Her husband, Kenneth "Boe" Ward, was a Korean War veteran and preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2007, in Reno, Nev. A graveside service for them will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct., 26, at Picard Cemetery in Dorris.
Linda was born to Clifford and Jewel (Barnes) Wire July 16, 1937, in Sheridan, Ark. Boe was born to Bill and Ardella (Gaither) Ward Jan. 5, 1932, in Porum, Okla. They were married Oct. 29, 1955, in Reno.
Linda was a banker for 37 years and Boe was a mill worker for 43 years, but they received their greatest enjoyment from being parents and spending time with their family. They also enjoyed watching sporting events like basketball, football and NASCAR. They loved activities they could do as a couple, such as dancing to old-time country music, traveling to the coast, water skiing and camping.
Linda was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Women's Club and PTA while Boe was an assistant fire chief and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and training his hunting dogs and was involved in Neighborhood Watch. Both were active in Butte Valley Boosters and Little League.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Julie Ward; daughter and son-in-law, Kem and Jim Rosecrans; sister, Marilyn Ward; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Joyce Wire; William and Marilyn Wire; grandchildren and their partners, Olivia and Sam, Rachel and Salomon, Elizabeth and Jason, Ron, Emily, David, Michaelina, and Kelsey; great-grandchildren Jocelyn, Seth, Alexis, Liberty, Marshall, Marius, and Addison; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
They were preceded in death by their parents, brothers Jim, Bill, Cecil, Randall, Aim and grandson, James Jason.
