William Charles "Chuck" McDonald, 67, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at his home with his wife, Barb, by his side. He was born in Laurel, Miss., Sept. 17, 1946. Chuck moved to Klamath Falls, Ore., in 1967 as a sergeant with the U.S. Air Force at Kingsley Field; he also served in the Vietnam War. He met the love of his life, Barbara (Barb) Brookshier, and they were married in June 1968. Immediately following his discharge from the U.S. Air Force, he began working at Weyerhaeuser Co. as a grader in August 1970 and worked until retirement as a leadman with Collins Companies through 2005. He enjoyed camping (member of Klamath Kampers-Good Sam), working in his yard, constantly visiting and checking on neighbors in the neighborhood, Western movies, music, and he took great pride when he restored his 1965 Ford Fairlane. Spending time with his grandson, Jordan, was his pride and joy and filled his days with laughter and fun. Chuck is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughter, Jody Choate, and grandson, Jordan Choate of Klamath Falls; godchild, Lynn Dee of Salem, Ore.; four cousins/sisters who live in Mississippi, Fran, Carolyn, Sharon and Wanda. Our special thanks to Dr. Mayland and Chrissy, DaVita Dialysis Center and High Desert Hospice - Denise, Bonnie, Ann and Patrick. A celebration of life will be Saturday, July 26, beginning at 11 a.m. with honors from Pelican Post No. 1383, Veterans of Foreign Wars and volunteers from the Marine Corps League with Michelle Tyree officiating and a reception immediately following to be held at the First Church of God, 2802 Altamont Drive, Klamath Falls, OR 97603.
