Dr. Allan Osborne, of Mill Creek, died Friday January 17, 2014, just a few months shy of his 90th birthday. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Carl G. Osborne and Ethel Pearl Claypool Osborne; a brother, Jere Osborne; a son, John Osborne, and a son, Bruce Osborne. Allan is survived by his wife, Dee Holliday Osborne; sister, Louise Chervenak; children: Nigel Featherston, Laurie Clark, Douglas Osborne, Emily Furlong, step-daughters, Paula Slater Coleman, Robin Slater and Cathy Slater; as well as seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Allan was born April 15, 1924 the son of Carl Gilbert Osborne and Ethel Pearl Claypool, in Gloyd, WA. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1941. Dr. Osborne received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of Washington in 1955. He served in the US Navy in both World War II and Korea, and is presently a retired LCDR in the USNR. His professional career included John Fluke Manufacturing Co, Inc., plus Litton, Martin Marietta, Singer, Kearfott Division, North American Rockwell, Hughes Aircraft and E. I. DuPont. Memorial Services will be held at Valley View Bible Church, 9717 31st St. SE, Everett, WA 98208 on February 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Puget Sound Kidney Center, 1019 Pacific Ave. Everett, WA, 98201.
