Captain Don Navarre Captain Don Navarre for Snohomish County Fire District 1 passed away at the age of 57 at his home in Kirkland, Washington on January 19, 2014 after a courageous 9-year battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Don was born May 22, 1956 in Monroe, Michigan. During Don's 23 years serving as a career firefighter, he was promoted into a number of positions to include Captain, Inspector, and Paramedic. Don would want us to remember him as a man of great pride, strength and passion for his family and his career as a firefighter. He is survived by his wife, Janet; four beautiful daughters: Andi, Dani, Jessi and Jacki. He lived his life with courage and conviction. He will be greatly missed by all that know him especially his mother, Virginia Navarre; siblings, Renee, Steve, Shelly, Mari and Nick. A memorial service will take place on January 28, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Westgate Chapel, 22901 Edmonds Way, Edmonds. A reception will be held immediately following at Nile Country Club, 6601 244th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace.
