Gibb peacefully passed away in the company of his family on January 28, 2014. Gibb was born on May 23, 1928 in Nampa, Idaho. He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Delores "Cookie" Hunter whom passed away in June, 2013. He leaves behind his daughter, Linda Anderson her husband, Don and their daughters, Chantal and Raven; along with his daughter, Nancy Young, her husband, Rick, and their children, Rebecca, Eric and Katie; and two great-grand-children. Gibb was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and dedicated loyal friend to many. Gibb attended Ontario High School in Oregon where he was class President. After he married in 1950, a month later he joined the Army and served two years in Korea where he received the Bronze Star Medal. After returning he became a Professional Barber, and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where he owned a Barber shop. After starting his family he returned to Wallace, Idaho where he was raised as a boy, and worked for the Coeur d'Alene company as Assistant Manager. He moved his family to the Edmonds area, where he continued his education and received his degree in Data Processing. His part time work lead to a full time job with the Northwest Garbage Company and later Waste Management, where he became well known throughout the community. He ended his career as a Warehouse Supervisor for G.L. Simm's and Associates. He was also active with the Masonic Lodge in Lynnwood, WA and as a Past-Guardian for Job's Daughters, he was a member of the Elk's club, and various organizations through out his life. He was a dedicated volunteer, a fun loving grandfather and faithful baby-sitter, even volunteering in his grandchildren's classroom. He would enjoy long hours drinking coffee and visiting at Jimbo's and local restaurants. In his later years he spent two years at Sunrise Assisted living in Edmonds, WA and later moved to Serenity Park Adult Family Home in Kenmore, WA for two years. His family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the loving care he received from his wonderful caregivers. The deepest appreciation to Evergreen Hospice team for their extraordinary care and support. A memorial service will be held at Floral Hills in Lynnwood, WA on February 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. If you knew Gibb we welcome you to join us in the celebration of his life.
