Lt. Col. (Retired) Robert O. Borgert

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Robert O. Borgert, 90, of Marysville, WA passed away November 21, 2012 peacefully with his family present.
Robert was born August 17, 1922 in Great Falls, Montana. He served in the Air Force for 27 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He completed 35 bombing missions over Germany within six months and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry on combat missions (1945), five times Air Medal with four oak-leaf clusters for combat missions over Europe and the Purple Heart (1943).
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Nati; sister-in-law, Juliet; brother-in-law Ernie; nephew, Julius; four children; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
The Vigil Service and Rosary will be held at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 27 at 11 a.m. and burial at Tahoma National Cemetery on Wednesday, November 28 at 9:15 a.m.
