Sandy Kay Estes, age 56, passed away while sleeping peacefully in her bed in Lake Stevens, WA on Tuesday, October 5, 2010.
Sandy Kay Estes
She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Gary; her two loving sons, Kurtis and Brad; Brad's wife, Susan and their two children, Chris and Olivia, whom she all loved so very much.
Sandy was born and raised in Seattle, WA. After graduating from the University of Washington (where she met her husband, Gary, after he rescued her from a swarm of bees), she started a small tax firm that now has more than 1,800 clients, all of whom were like a second family to her.
While Sandy was indeed an excellent accountant, she was first and foremost an exemplary mom. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her two sons, and they will be forever grateful for all the love she showed them.
She loved so many things, but none so much as her family, who she cherished and cared for every waking moment of her life. Just recently, Sandy was blessed with two wonderful grandchildren and had the opportunity of babysitting them for a week down in California. She was born to be a grandmother, and her family is very grateful that she got the chance to be called Grandma.
Sandy was a mother, a grandmother, and a friend. We are all deeply saddened to not have her in this world anymore, but her memory will live on through the joy and happiness that she created while here.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, at the Lake Stevens High School Performing Arts Center. A reception is to follow in the High School Cafeteria.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to any Multiple Sclerosis foundation.
