Steve Litch passed away at home in Arlington, WA on May 22, 2014, at the age of 62, after a long illness. He was born in Munich, Germany to Albert and Elaine Litch, while his father was serving in the U.S. Air Force. He came home to Massachusetts when he was a year old and the family later moved to McChord Air Force Base, where his dad retired. He graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1969. After school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Okinawa for two years, being discharged in 1971. Using his GI Bill, he went to Western Washington University where he met Linda Rasmussen. They were married August 24, 1974 and would have celebrated their 40th anniversary later this summer. Steve worked in the paper products sales arena for several years and for the past few years worked at the U.S. Navy PX warehouse in Marysville. He was scheduled to retire May 31, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters: Shalaine (Travis) Burkes (Thibodaux, LA); and his grandchildren: Jason Allen (Lake Stevens), and Aysha and Pilot Burkes (Thibodaux, LA) and Joelle Litch (Arlington). Other family include his brothers, Randy and Chris Litch; and his sister, Sandy. His parents passed away several years ago. Extended family include his in-laws Robert and Jean Rasmussen (Marysville); brother in-laws, Gerry (Cathy) (Lacey) and Dennis (Vickie) Rasmussen (Bellingham), as well as several nephews and nieces. Steve and Linda enjoyed traveling to several sunny spots, including Hawaii, the Caribbean, Tenerife, and Mexico. Services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Crystal Tree Village Clubhouse, 16600 25th Ave NE, Marysville (off exit 206, behind Target).
