Peter Mattos

Peter Mattos 81 of Fall River died on May 12th. He was the husband of Janet (Delaney) Mattos. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Antonia (Rua) and Joseph Mattos. He was a Graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and had served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He later served 31 years as a Fireman with the Fall River Fire Dept. He was a member of the ELKS. In addition to his wife, he leaves a sister Genevieve Medeiros and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Mattos, Joseph Mattos, Mary Sylvia, Sophie Goulet, Antone Mattos, Arthur Mattos, John Mattos, Margaret Medeiros and Agnes Benevides. Visitation Sunday 4-7 PM. His Funeral will be held Monday at 9am from the A F Almeida & Son Funeral Home 1309 Globe St, Fall River with a 10am Mass at St Marys Cathedral. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery. www.almeida-pocasset.com
