Bernard A. Gaillet, 78, of Sarasota, formerly of Annapolis, MD, died Jan. 7, after a brief illness. Bernard was born in Blendecques, France, and moved with his family to Larchmont, NY in 1946. He attended the University of Notre Dame, majoring in Industrial Engineering. Bernard was a member of the Corinthians, an east-coast based sailing group, Bird Key Yacht Club, and Le Cercle Francaise, which he created. He is survived by his wife, Diane Martin-Gaillet; his children, Daniel (Bethany), Philippe (Lynee), and Bibiane Franceschelli (Bob), and 9 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Delavigne, Helene de Neergaard and Edith Hadik. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Charlotte Stancioff and Fanny Guerlain. A Celebration of His Life will be held Thurs., January 10, 2013 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Key Towers South on Lido Key. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
