Chatterton, Bob
Feb. 14, 2013
Bob Chatterton of Aptos, CA, died on Feb. 14, 2013.
He recently moved to California to be close to family. Bob was born and raised in Chicago and lived in Clarendon Hills, Illinois for over 30 years with his wife, Dot Chatterton. They moved to Punta Gorda, Florida in 1984, when Bob retired. In 2006, they moved to Freedom Plaza in Sun City Center, FL.
Bob was a successful small business owner in the Chicago area. Recco Tool and Supply, the company he started over 50 years ago, continues to provide tools and equipment to the construction industry. He was a founding member of the Specialty Tools & Fasteners Distributors Association (STAFDA), and helped promote the value of distributors of construction and industrial products with manufacturers, suppliers and customers. Bob was an avid sailor and spent many weekends in Chicago and Punta Gorda on the water. He raced with M.O.R.F. on Lake Michigan for over ten years. All of his sailboats were christened Gung Ho. Bob was a marine and served in World War II and the Korean War. In his own words, Bob had a good life, a wonderful family, great friends, and many fond memories.
Bob is survived by his son, Craig Chatterton, his daughter, Cathleen Busch, and his granddaughter, Jenna Busch. Dot Chatterton, his wife of 60 years, died in 2007. At Bob's request, no services were held.
