C. Kevin Landry, the longtime head of private equity firm TA Associates, died August 1 in Boston. He was 69. Mr. Landry was a resident of Boston and Longboat Key.
Born in Boston to the late Christopher Lee Landry and the late Barbara (Sullivan) Landry, Mr. Landry was raised in Arlington and Andover, Massachusetts. He had a residence in Longboat Key since 2000.
Mr. Landry graduated from Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts in 1962 and received a BA from Harvard College in 1966 and an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania in 1968. He joined TA Associates upon its formation in 1968. He spent his entire professional career at the firm, the majority of which as Managing Partner, CEO and Chairman.
Mr. Landry is survived by his wife G. Barrie (Hogan) Landry, children Christopher Landry of New York, New York, Kimberly GwinnLandry and her husband Mark of Wellesley, Massachusetts, Jennifer Landry Le and her husband Khoa of Riverside, Connecticut, and nine grandchildren, as well as brother Brian Landry of Katonah, New York, and sisters Brenda Landry and Christina Landry of Sarasota.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at The Memorial Church at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts on August 15, 2013 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Landry Cancer Biology Consortium, established through the generosity and commitment to Mr. Landry from his partners and colleagues at TA Associates.
