Dan V. Rainer Obituary
Rainer, Dan V.
Nov. 26, 1942 - May 24, 2013
Dan V. Rainer, 70,of Venice, Florida died Friday May 24, 2013. He was born November 26, 1942 in Romania.
"Husband, father, son- best in all he tried to achieve for all of us.
A brilliant mind, a nuclear engineer who used to work for NASA on projects for satellites and space shuttles.
A devoted son, he always had respect and gratitude for his mother. They went through difficult times together, when they immigrated to the United States and he never forgot her help and sacrifices for him.
A remarkable father, he dedicated a lot of his time to his sons, whether it was math, advice with course choices, driving them to school or after school activities, help with projects or finding them the best reading list. He wanted for his sons great academic achievements and was very proud with their excellent results. Sometimes demanding, often impetuous, he had their best interest in his heart and followed it through in detail. As ill as he was lately, he found the strength to go on College trips to help with the decision for what is best for his son. He was very proud of Robert's achievement as Valedictorian and he hoped to have a little longer to see Eduard's achievements too.
An amazing husband, he was loving, generous, supportive and understanding. I will always remember the red roses he loved to bring. I will miss my friend; I will miss his kindness, his persistence and his determination to have only the best for his family.
He was very decisive, hopeful and a fighter; nothing was impossible for him. Even when his illness took a toll on him, he was still planning to try anything the science has to offer, just to be here for us, such a selfless soul.
He used to be the one we all leaned on... He was our rock, and we will miss him tremendously. It is unbearable to imagine life without him, but we know he loves us and he will always watch over us."
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Laura S. Rainer, MD; sons, Robert and Eduard; mother, Juliana.
