Frank Marion Roebuck, Jr., 70, longtime resident of Tampa, Florida and Venice, Florida, passed away at home on December 30, 2013, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 48 years, his two children and family.
Frank was born to Frank Marion and Alice Flury Roebuck on December 20, 1943, in Atlanta, GA. He attended Wake Forest and graduated from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC. He got his MBA in Finance from the University of Florida and was an avid Gator fan. With a passion for numbers and a highly analytical mind, he spent his career in the institutional investment industry, beginning as a securities analyst at Wachovia and Loeb, Rhoades & Co. Later, he was Senior Vice President and ran the bond department at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and Tampa Yacht and Country Club.
Frank was a loving husband and an amazing father with a big heart. Everyone that met him loved him. He was smart and funny with a passion for great food, good books and spending time with his family.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary Frances of Venice, Florida; son, Frank Marion Roebuck III (Kyle Tompkins) of Boston; daughter, Traci Roebuck Wheeler (Frank) and his grandsons, Garrett and Dylan Wheeler of Venice, Florida.
