George W. Getchis of Englewood, Fla formerly of Clark and later Colts Neck, NJ passed away in his home. He was born and raised in Linden, NJ with his two sisters Mildred, Gertrude and two brothers Edward and Hilliard.
George was VP of Clark Lumber and Supply Co where he was in charge of product development until his retirement in 1991.
During WWII George served as tank commander with the 747th tank Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Germany and was recipient of The Purple Heart, Bronze Star and American Service medals.
George is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eleanor, having met in February 1947.
