H. Winston Williams, 88, of Scott, New York, passed peacefully on December 16, 2013. Winston was born and raised in Plainfield, New Jersey. He joined the Army and was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in the European Theater during WWII. Winston returned home and graduated from Lafayette College, in Easton, PA. Winston joined New Jersey Bell and worked in various management positions until retiring in 1982 to Scott, New York. They enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Scott, NY, and Venice, FL. Winston was a member of the Homer Elks Lodge, American Legion, V.F.W. and D.A.V. Surviving Winston are his wife of 62 years, Geraldine and his 6 children - Weston, Henry, and Michael Williams of New Jersey, Andrew Williams of New York, and Tony Williams and Trish Labus of Florida. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and his nephew, Gerrit Vreeland. Winston is predeceased by his mother Lucille Griffith, father Weston Williams, and sisters Dorothy Williams and Jane Vreeland. A Celebration of Winston's Life will be held in May.
