(Jack) D. Faulds, Jr, 89, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of River Forest, IL, died on Nov. 12, 2012. Visitation will be held at 2:00 pm on Sat., Dec. 1, 2012. Services will be held on Sat.
Jack Faulds died peacefully on November 12, 2012 in the company of his wife and children. He was 89 years of age. Anyone who knew Jack recognized him as a remarkable man; kind, compassionate, honest, tolerant, and dependable and always the life of the party. He was most definitely a wonderful husband and father. Jack was a WW II veteran who served in the Navy and was stationed mostly in the Aleutian Islands. After the war, he took over his family business, Faulds Oven Company, where he was owner and president of a highly regarded manufacturing concern. He played golf for nearly 80 years and also enjoyed tennis, sailing, and was a member of the River Forest Tennis Club, the White Lake Yacht Club(MI), and the Palm-Aire Country Club (Sarasota).
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Lois Ann (Sweetie) MacDiarmid Faulds, and survived by his wife, Betty Pruitt Faulds. Additionally, he is survived by his children, Patricia Ann (John) Blackman of Davenport, Iowa, Katherine Elizabeth (Patrick) Stack of Lihue, Hawaii, John Douglas Faulds III "Doug F." (Roxanna) of Berwyn, Illinois, and Leonore Belle (Wayne) Potter of Bemidji, Minnesota, Robert Michael (Martha) Pruitt of Kansas City, Patricia Lesley (John McPartland) Pruitt of Middlebury, Vermont, and Susan Marlene Pruitt(Mark) Gruhlke of Arlington Heights, Illinois. Jack had fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of River Forest, Illinois at 2 pm on Saturday, December 1, 2012. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the River Forest First Presbyterian Church or the .
