Lenkowski, Lillian Langer

Lillian Langer Lenkowski, 94, of Venice, Florida formerly of Waterbury, Connecticut died July 19, 2014. Lillian was the daughter of Michael Langer and Antonia Lago. She was an elementary school teacher in Hamden and Cheshire, Connecticut. Lillian attended Southern Connecticut Teachers College. Lillian was an avid knitter and seamstress. She volunteered at Historic Spanish Point and St. Mark's Thrift Store and was a long standing member of the Venice Yacht Club. She was a member of Epiphany Cathedral. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Dr. William Lenkowski, her siblings Margaret Sucsy, Helen Langer, Francis Langer and Mary DePasquale. Survivors include her daughters Leda Knight (William) of Holliston, MA and Gail Langer of Stoneham, Maine, son Michael Langer (Karen) of Chadds Ford, PA, five grandchildren Billy, Sarah, Kendal, Lauren and Meredith and two great-grandchildren Olivia and Zoe. A visitation will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Ewing Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am at Epiphany Cathedral. Lillian loved sea turtles and supported Mote Marine Laboratory. Memorial donations may be made to Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, Turtle Conservation Fund, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota, Florida 34236.
