Nathan Stewart Elder, 87, of Bradenton, entered his heavenly home April 13, 2013, at the age 87. He was born in Beaver County, Pennsylvania on August 26, 1925. Nathan came to Bradenton in May 1967 from Cedarville, Ohio. He served 3 years in US Navy during World War II.
He was a rural mail carrier 10 years in Cedarville and mail clerk in charge of Bayshore Gardens Contract Site for 13 years. As a member of Bayshore Gardens Reformed Church, he served as treasurer for over 30 years. Nathan was a member of American Legion Post 317 and finance officer from 1969 until 2011. Nathan was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph and George and his first wife, Hazel. He leaves behind his loving wife, Alice, brothers, Floyd and Fred, many nieces and nephews, 3 step-children, and 6 step-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Bayshore Gardens Community Church, 6228 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34207.
