Phil Franklin Futch, 81 of Sarasota, FL, passed away at the Bay Pines Hospice and Palliative Care Center on June 4, 2014 with his family by his side. Phil was born July 14, 1932 in Cedargrove, TN to John and Thelma Futch. He served in the United States Navy in 1948 to 1952. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Moose Lodge #1319. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Elaine and son Rick Futch. He is one of nine siblings and is survived by his two sisters, Peggy Butler and Agnes Thomas, a sister and brother in law- Chris and John Bartholomew, seven children- Cynthia Futch, Lyle Futch, Johnny Futch, Clifford Futch, Valerie Bell Futch, Tony Futch, and Theresa Stevens- twenty-two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He would want all his family to remember: it will be "More Gooder"! Services will be at Gendron Funeral Home 135 N. Lime Ave on Thursday July 17 from 10am-12noon followed by graveside service at Sarasota National Cemetery at 3pm.
