Robert Lambert, 54, of Sarasota, FL, died on Jan. 8, 2013.
Robert "Bob" Lambert, of Sarasota, FL., formerly of Chesterton, IN., was born in Decatur, IL.
He graduated from Butler University in 1980, earning a degree in Business Administration, and lettered all four years in both baseball and football. He then earned his MBA from Indiana University. Bob was a successful business executive and owner for the past 32 years, most recently working as a private mortgage banker for MSC Mortgage.
On June 27, 1981, he married the love of his life, Leslie A. McCrum, in Columbia City, IN. He is survived by their four children, David P. (Emily) of Orlando; Matthew P. (Megan) of Jacksonville; John P. of Raleigh, NC; Christine A. of Sarasota; and Bob's pride and joy, his granddaughter, Taryn of Orlando. He is also survived by his brothers, William (Mary Kay) of Raleigh, NC and Thomas (Sonia) of Keystone, CO and 10 nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marilyn.
Visitation will be held at Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 40 N. Orange Ave in Sarasota on Wednesday, January 9, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Wake service being held at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 10, at 10:00 AM at St. Martha's Catholic Church, 200 N. Orange Ave in Sarasota.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to All Faiths Food Bank.
