Robert V. Aaron, 80, of Arcadia, formerly of Monticello, Ga., and Washington, D.C., died Nov. 18, 2011.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church Arcadia. Services will follow with Rev. Richard Englert officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sarasota National Cemetery, where the Veterans Honor Guard will render military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Betty A. of Arcadia; sons Robert V. of Plantation and Bruce C. of Sarasota; brother Francis of Stone Mountain, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert served our country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force, with tours of duty in Korea, Germany, and at the Pentagon. After retiring from the service, Maj. Aaron spent the rest of his working career in hospital administration, including as the CEO of Sarasota Palms Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Robert's name be made to First Baptist Church, 1006 Brevard Ave., Arcadia, FL 34266; or to the Robert Aaron Annual Scholarship at Reinhardt University, 7300 Reinhardt Circle, Waleska, GA 30183.
