Robert William Graf, 91, died November 21, 2013. Born in Manchester, Maryland, he retired to Venice, Florida in 1964, after 20 years of service to his country. He was responsible for providing housing and subsistence, other than food, for all foreign and U.S. delegations at the Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal, for which he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. For three years he served as Aide-de-Camp to Gen. Lewis C. Beebe in Wurzburg, Germany, and later received the bronze Star for service with the 2nd Division during the Korean conflict. He served three years at the Pentagon. Major Graf wore the General Staff Identification and theater ribbons from the European and Korean Campaigns. His last major assignment was a tour in Okinawa, for which he received a cluster to the Commendation Medal. He was a life member of the VFW, a 42 year member of the American Legion and a member of the Military Officer's Association of America. He leaves his wife of 72 years, sons Robert Bowyer and wife Leeda, William Randolph and wife Barbara, and Bryan Cartmell, grandchildren, Tyson, Ashley, Martin and Michelle, also 3 great-grandchildren Alexander, Madeline and Sophia.
