Ronald Joesph Frisosky, 73, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of East Lansing, Michigan, died on Aug. 4, 2014, with his family by his side.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Sat., Aug. 16, 2014 at St Michael the Archangel Church in Siesta Key, FL.
Ron was an adored husband, father, grandfather, colleague, and friend.
Born and raised in Lansing, Michigan, Ron attended Saint Mary's Catholic Schools and Michigan State University. After many years serving in the Air National Guard, he pursued a career in the sporting goods industry by opening the Weathervane. By 1981, Ron and his family relocated to Sarasota, FL. His passion for sailing continued to influence Ron's career. In 1985 he joined the Catalina Yacht family in Sales/marketing which he worked till his death.
Ron's attraction to the outdoors was evident in his choice of hobbies. His spirit for sailing was felt by all who knew him. As a member of the Sarasota Sailing Squadron and an enthusiast for the Sarasota Youth Sailing Program, Ron was happy to see the joy of sailing brought to people's lives. In the 1980's he was a driving force and co-chair for Sailfest. He was a avid sailor, ocean racer, golfer, skier, entrepreneur and a loyal Tampa Bay Rays and Michigan State football fan. Ron's love and faith for his family was a driving force on who he was.
He is loved and survived by his wife of 47 years Margo, his daughter Jamie, son-in-law Mark, his two precious granddaughters Eden and Emery, and his beloved dog Maggie.
A private burial will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent to the Sarasota Youth Sailing Program (SYSP) P.O. Box 2706 Sarasota , FL 34230 and to TideWell Hospice of Sarasota.
