Virginia Warner, 85, of Indianapolis, IN, died on July 10, 2013.
Virginia Ann Osborn Warner
85, of Indianapolis, formerly of Englewood, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 with family by her bedside. "Jeanie Ann", the little red-haired girl who loved to ride the hills on horseback, was born in Nashville, TN to Hilary Herbert and Anna Cecelia Shur Osborn on October 28, 1927. She was known for her kind and generous nature, never-ending support for her family and the Indianapolis Colts, and the love of God and life.
Virginia was a graduate of Hillsborough High, Ward Belmont Junior College, Vanderbilt University (undergraduate) and Butler University (graduate). She was a social studies teacher for over 20 years at Westlane Junior High, Washington Township and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma Society International for Women Educators and St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William Otis Warner III (1999). She is survived by her brothers, Hilary (Caroline) Osborn and John (Beverly) Osborn, as well as her children, Ann (Steven) Crossman, Laura (Jeffrey) Ott, and William Warner. She took great pride in the ongoing accomplishments of her 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom were very dear to her heart.
The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to Home Instead Senior Care caregivers, the many doctors, nurses, social workers and clergy at Franciscan St. Francis Hospital of Indianapolis, and to the parish members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Franklin, IN.
At a time yet to be finalized, family will gather for a service celebrating Virginia's life and to return her to her beloved hills of Nashville. Contributions may be given in Virginia's memory to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 600 Paul Hand Blvd. Franklin, IN 46131.
