Warren A. Sweetman of Palmetto, FL, died on Oct. 23, 2012.
Warren lost his final battle to pancreatic cancer. The WWII Staff Sergeant was a proud member of the First Infantry Division when he landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He earned the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars and three Purple Hearts. Born in Chicago, he moved to Palmetto after the war where he was a lifelong building contractor. For years he was a volunteer fireman and E.M.T. He is survived by his wife Lorraine, three children, Gary, Melody and Eric, five stepchildren, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
