Alan Curtis Blair passed away peacefully on January 20, at age 79. Alan was a Houstonian by age 4, graduate of Lamar High School and University of Texas, where he was a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, and then served as an officer in the US Navy. He was employed with Graybar Electric Company for 33 years and has enjoyed many years of retirement traveling the world with wife of 46 years, Catherine. Alan was a participant in various volunteer programs throughout Houston, Katy and Columbus, TX, including Maude Marks Library, the Lions Club of Columbus, and the KISD Folk Life Festival. He felt very strongly about giving back to his community.

He was preceded in death by parents, Dr. & Mrs. Lyman Blair. Survivors include loving wife, Catherine; adoring daughters, Jennifer Keefe, Dana Conrad and Alison Martin and their spouses; eight grandchildren; sisters, Lynda Dittbrenner of Colorado and Susan Cronfel of Houston.
His memory is forever in our hearts and all who knew him can never forget the consummate gentleman with the beautiful blue eyes who knew no strangers in this world.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, with Chaplain Daniel Schramm officiating.
