Allen L. Moore Sr. passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the age of 90. Allen was born in Alvin, Texas on June 9, 1923 as the middle child and only boy of 5 children. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School and served in the U.S. Army Air Force as an air plane mechanic during World War II. After the war he joined Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 54 and retired from A. M. Bowles Company in 1985. In retirement he enjoyed gardening, traveling, and especially showing the things he made with his tools. Allen was a faithful servant of God as a parishioner of Champion Forest Baptist Church. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, William Leon and Ida Mae Moore and his sisters, Virginia Hunt, Dorothy McIntyre, Betty Followell, and Ruby Powell. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Moore, children, Allen Jr., Sherry, and Gary. Also surviving are Granddaughter Krystle Rombach (Sean) and Great Grandson Bryson Oliver. His extended family includes many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11:00AM. The family wishes to thank the staff of New Century Hospice and Villa Toscana Care Center as well as Allen's sister-in-law Janie and Frank Pustka and his niece Lisa Marshall for their love and support during Allen's final days.
