Andrew L. Fono, LTC. USMC, Ret., 51, devoted husband, father and son, died unexpectedly on April 24, 2014. A 1986 graduate of Texas Tech University and a 1992 graduate of South Texas College of Law, he was an accomplished attorney and shareholder in the Houston office of Winstead, P.C. Andy also proudly served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and Reserves for 29 years. In 2006, he deployed to Iraq as a Sr. Judge Advocate in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Andy is survived by his wife, the former Stephanie Alexander and three daughters, Alissa, Taylor, and McKenna. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Judith Bateman and sister, Portia Fono, as well as nine nieces and nephews. Also surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law and his mother and father-in-law Nick and Jerry Alexander of Katy.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, with Rev. Dan Warden, celebrant.
